Merck doctor likely to testify at trial.
Doctor Nancy Santanello will likely be one of the only Merck executives called to the witness stand as part of the first Vioxx trial that opened this week down in SE Texas. Her testimony could be crucial for Merck and many investors and lawyers are watching this case closely to get a fix on what the future might be for the other 4000 pending Vioxx suits already filed, and the tens of thousands sure to be filed if a plaintiff verdict is reached.
It's a great read on the opening few days of the case. I highly recommend it.
