Merck tried to alter Vioxx in 2000
Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 06:10AM Documents produced at the first major Vioxx Trial today revealed Mercks secret attempt to alter Vioxx.
The attempt was to reduce the drugs cardiac and heart negative impact,
all the while insisting to doctors and the public that the drug was
safe and had no negative impact.
It doesn't take a genius to realize that with Vioxx contributing over
10% of all net income and revenue to Merck that this was a major
revenue provider, and the attempts made to protect that revenue source
are beginning to come out in the trial in Texas. Mark Lanier will have
them on the stand again today and at the rate he is uncovering new and
interesting information i'm sure the Merck people can't wait to get off
that stand.
