Business Method's Patents and Law suits.

Great article in the Boston Globe today on Boston Communications Groups fight  to stay alive as a company due to a law suit they lost when Freedom Wireless of Phoenix sued them for patent infringement on a "business methods" case.

These cases are starting to pop up more frequently after the wave of patents issued in the late 90's internet expansion and a lot of the chickens are coming home to roost. What do you think? Are the patents overly broad and is this going to be an expanding area of the law for trial lawyers?
