Senate investigation on pediatric use of propulsid

Check out this article in the NY Times, discussing how J&J used government funds to promote pediatric use of the now shelved Propulsid.

As we know the Propulsid case settled for $90 million to resolve the claims of almost 400 plaintiffs who claimed cardiac and other ailments tied to the use of the drug. This Senate inquiry focuses on the now common practice of drug companies using what are nominally educational funds from the government to explain the use of a medication to certain societal groups, instead being misused to expand and find new markets and uses for a drug beyond what they were originally approved for.

It's nothing more then extension of the product cycle and it often comes at  the expense of safety.

Tune in to tomorrows show on LBN to hear how mercury ended up in vaccines and the possible tragic increase in autism followed shortly thereafter.
