Attorney Jan Schlichtmann featured in AP story on innovative Shade Tree Trust.

In a nationally circulated story noted Civil Action Attorney Jan Schlichtmann was featured today in a major AP wire story written by reporter Jay Lindsey on the innovative Shade Tree Trust established by Attorney Schlichtmann. The trust is attempting to assist municipalities in Massachusetts determine the extent of damage that slow or low level natural gas leaks have caused to old growth trees in the cities and towns of the Commonwealth, and to determine the best and most equitable method to save or replace them.

The trust is another of the innovative approaches being used by Attorney Jan Schlichtmann to find alternatives to litigation and destructive legal tactics, and instead to foster an approach of cooperation and long term success in resolving what were once viewed as intractable environmental liability and damage cases.
