Negative Campaigning

Getting tired of the rhetoric, finger pointing, name-calling and negative campaign ads?
Then go climb under a rock for the
next few weeks. Media analyst Chris Harper says prepare for more of the same until Election Day. “Expect to see more negative campaigning from both sides in the coming weeks, especially on the Internet, because undecided voters pay attention to it.” Although he'd like to see polls abolished, Harper says the polls that should be looked at the most closely are for the swing states of Florida, New Mexico and Ohio. “The so- called ‘Bradley Effect’ should also be looked at in those particular polls because of the diverse makeup of those states.” Harper has worked for the Associated Press, Newsweek and ABC News. He teaches at Temple University in the journalism department.

Do you ever -- EVER -- think there will come a time when we will see what a candidate does, thinks and believes -- and not just what he or she wants you to think the opposition does, thinks and believes. Why is your record not enough?
I worry.
