Graduate Can't Find Job. Sues College
Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:36AM (Huffington Post) A New York City woman who says she can't find a job is suing the college where she earned a bachelor's
degree.
Trina Thompson filed a lawsuit against Monroe College in Bronx Supreme Court. The 27-year-old is seeking the $70,000 she spent on tuition.
Thompson says she's been unable to find gainful employment since she received her information technology degree in April.
She says the Bronx school's Office of Career Advancement hasn't provided her with the leads and career advice it promises.
Monroe College spokesman Gary Axelbank says Thompson's lawsuit is completely without merit.
The college insists it helps its graduates find jobs.

Try taking voluntary work.
Try writing to companies, asking about graduate opportunities.
Try Twitter.
Try brushing up on your soft skills.
Try job boards like http://www.graduate-jobs.com
In other words TRY.
Now if this had broke on the first of April, I'd swear this was a prank story. I wish it were a prank story because the idea that someone as deluded as this woman managed to get a degree is absolutely mind-boggling. If she was expecting a plethora of graduate careers to fall into her lap, she should never have gone for a degree.
All she's going to achieve is to get herself blacklisted by every company who wishes to avod giving a job to a sue-happy graduate with a sense of entitlement.
Cheers,
