BP oil spill litigation, first a look at the current containment strategy.

As the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico continues to gush and defy containment efforts, the legal issues surrounding this historic environmental disaster are just now starting to become clear. Attorney Rick Kuykendall, a Fairhope, AL native and one of the nations leading class action and environmental law experts joins Speaking of Justice again this week in a four part interview discussing the four key areas applicable to the monumental legal event.

We have previously posted all four segments of this interview in one blog post, but as many blog and social networks only post the first part of an entry we are also breaking these out in four separate blog entries by title so you can go to the video and commentary that most interests you. We aren't in the habit of doing multiple posts of the same content but this subject is so important and so heavily searched we want to make sure anyone looking for information on the legal aspects of the BP oil spill can find these in the most convenient format for them.

Part one looks at the current issues as to the containment and spread of oil over the Gulf Coast region. Recent efforts to put a dome or containment "box" have failed and the spill continues to pump thousands of gallons of oil into the Gulf each hour. This video looks at what is currently going on with the spill and what are the patterns of the plume over the Gulf. This segment is designed to give you a working knowledge of the situation from someone on the scene and who is plugged into environmental and governmental groups, as well as legal experts from around the region.
