Penn State Legal Liability Discussion Attorney Larry Hardoon

The grand jury report that describes Jerry Sandusky's alleged sexual abuse of eight young boys also provides a rough outline of the civil lawsuits Penn State University and its implicated officials are sure to face, legal experts say.

And while those claims will carry the potential for millions of dollars in financial hardship for Penn State, the university's leaders will have to decide between vigorously defending themselves or settling out of court to make the victims whole.

Larry Hardoon is a founding partner at Brody, Hardoon, Perkins and Kesten, LLP. Having practiced close to thirty-five years as a civil attorney and a prosecutor. Mr. Hardoon has a national reputation, and he is especially known for his representation of many students at prep schools and colleges who were victimized sexually as well as hundreds of individuals who were sexually abused by priests, counselors, neighbors, and family members. He was the chief prosecutor in many high profile criminal cases. Mr. Hardoon has argued cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the Supreme Judicial Court, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Hardoon says  "Unfortunately the Penn State cases follow a very predictable pattern of abuse that has been played out before."
